Biodegradation and its role in the world
Share
Origin and meaning
The word is a portmanteau of the Greek bios (life) and the Latin degradatio (lowering). European Union law takes into account the seriousness of the problem, which is why nowadays we can hear about biodegradability in every industry.
Why is it so important? Because it is a process in nature in which material decays and is broken down by microorganisms into non-toxic substances, e.g. water or CO2. Looking at the current situation in the world, where one of the main problems is waste management, this issue should be approached sensibly and seriously.
We will drown in garbage
Waste production on Earth is increasing every year. This negative trend is also visible in Poland. In 2019, the average Pole generated 332 kg of garbage. This is 49 kg more than five years earlier. Global forecasts also leave no doubts. According to the World Bank's report " What a Waste 2.0:A Global Snapshot of Solid Waste Management to 2050 ", approximately 2 billion tons of solid waste are currently generated each year. However, according to expert predictions, in 30 years we can expect waste production to reach 3.4 billion tons per year.
What causes the overproduction of waste?
The main reason for the overproduction of waste is the enrichment of society. Unfortunately, growing consumerism often goes hand in hand with increasing waste production. This, in turn, requires worldwide efforts to search for new solutions for effective and, at the same time, ecological methods of waste disposal.
The solution is at hand
This aspect attracts our attention and we want to be guided by the good of people without harming Mother Nature. Despite unfavorable circumstances and entrepreneurs looking for savings in cheaper substitutes, we still stick to the plan. We also continue to prove the quality of our product and that it has the properties we declare. We have received a document from ICSO - Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis, which confirms that our product is 100% biodegradable.
Everyone can contribute to taking care of the ecosystem. Some larger, some smaller, but it is always worth doing it whenever possible. The hallmark of our iBlock is its effectiveness combined with a non-invasive insert that decomposes after just 28 days.
